Review and Community Guidelines

Reviews help students choose training firms and faculty, and they only work if they are honest and fair.
3.1 What a good review looks like
- It describes your own, first-hand experience.
- Ratings reflect what actually happened to you, and figures such as stipend and lecture hours are accurate.
- It is about the work, teaching or support, not the person.
Reviews are star ratings plus a few figures. There is no free-text comment box.
3.2 What is not allowed
- Reviews of firms or faculty you have not worked with or studied under.
- Fake, paid, incentivised or bulk reviews, or reviews posted by or for the firm or faculty being reviewed.
- Entering a name that is not a real firm or faculty member, or one meant to mislead or harass.
- Posting the same review under several accounts.
- Using reviews to harass, threaten or discriminate against a person.
3.3 How reviews are shown
Reviews are anonymous to other students: your name and email are never shown. Reviews are visible only to signed-in students. A firm or faculty member's card lists its reviews and, when there is more than one review, shows the average rating with the number of reviews behind it. When there is only one review, it is shown as it is. Reviews have no free-text comment, so they do not carry your name, but a firm or faculty member with very few reviews may be able to guess who wrote one. Please keep that in mind before you post. We may recalculate averages if reviews are removed.
3.4 Who can review
Only signed-in students with a confirmed email, an account at least 7 days old, and some study activity in the Study Tracker can post reviews. You can post one review per firm, and one review per faculty member for each subject. Names are matched ignoring capital letters, spacing and titles such as "CA", so the same firm or faculty member cannot be reviewed twice under slightly different spellings. This reduces fake and duplicate reviews.
3.5 If you are reviewed (firms and faculty)
If you believe a review is false, abusive, or breaks these Guidelines, email support.team@thechartered.in with the subject "Review complaint". Tell us which review, why it is wrong, and any evidence. We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to decide within 15 days. We may remove the review, ask the reviewer to correct it, or keep it, and we will tell you which. We do not remove reviews just because they are critical.
3.6 Reporting a review
Any student can report a review in the same way. We may remove content that breaks the law, these Guidelines or the Terms, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
3.7 Legal orders
We remove or disclose content when a court or competent authority lawfully orders us to.
